Bahrain: Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry chairman Khalid Almoayed has backed down on his decision to resign.
He is due to withdraw the “resignation letter” sent to BCCI board members, a copy of which was also addressed to the Premier. A meeting was held yesterday involving Mr Almoayed, first deputy chairman Khalid Al Zayani and a prominent figure. They agreed that Mr Almoayed would maintain his position as chairman, without any changes to the executive bureau in its new formation, which includes deputies Mr Al Zayani, Abdulhameed Al Kooheji, treasurer Isa Abdulrahim, deputy-treasurer Mohammed Sajid and members Ahmed bin Hindi and Abdulhakim Al Shemmeri, a source told our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej. A board meeting is expected to take place in two days to discuss the General Assembly’s recommendations.
