Dubai: A $1-million gold-plated Nissan R3 GT-R was unveiled on Monday at the Automechanika automotive parts exhibition in Dubai’s World Trade Centre.
The car, showcased by Japanese sports cars customisers Kuhl Racing, is covered with a gold paint sheen applied by Japanese body-shop Artis Izawa and further engraved by artist Takahiko Izawa.
It car was first shown at the Tokyo Auto Salon in January and features a 3.8 litre V6 twin turbo engine with 545 horsepower and 6-speed dual clutch transmission.

Automechanika Dubai is the largest trade exhibition in its kind in the MENA region.
The body kit is unlike any you’ve probably seen on any GT-R as well, sporting widened wheel flares, a custom wing, massive front and rear bumpers with huge air ducts and a big diffuser masking an exhaust system that can be easily mistaken with a work of art.
Naturally, on a project of this magnitude, the 3.8-litre V6 was reworked as well, now sporting 820 hp with the help of two new turbochargers, and that twisted exhaust system with titanium mufflers.
