Al Khaldiya (KHK) team has won the 24th Al Maktoum Cup Traditional Rowing Race (30-feet boat category), held in the UAE.
The event was organised by Dubai International Marine Club under the marine sports season 2020-2021 with the participation of top 20 elite boats which qualified as per the results of the first and second rounds.
The KHK team, which was led by captain Ahmed Nasser Al Busameet, finished first in the 2,400 metre rowing race. They were followed by Emirate Al Dhahab team while Oman finished third.
Bahrain’s second representative, Victorious Team, also performed remarkably and finished fourth in the thrilling race, beating Emirati and Omani teams.
Bahrain Traditional Sports Committee chairman Khalifa bin Abdulla Al Qaoud congratulated His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and SCYS first deputy chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for the victory.
