Forty-six participants impressed in the first day of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Falconry Championship.
The tournament which opened on Friday was part of the seventh edition of the Nasser bin Hamad Falconry and Hunting Season.
The first day was allocated for the public who are not eligible to compete with professional falconers.
In the Shawaheen category (frookh), Hassan Saud Al Ajmi won the first and second places, while Abdulla Hamad Al Nuaimi came third among 10 winners.
Isa Rashid Al Dhawadi won the Al Harrar (Frookh) category, followed by Rashid Nabeel Al Balooshi, Rashid Ayedh Al Merri and three other winners.
Hassan Faisal Al Ajmi dominated the Shawaheen Jeerat (Frookh) category, while Ahmed Ibrahim Mandi and Khalid Faisal Al Ajmi finished second and third respectively.
In the Jeerat (Frookh) category, the winner was Abdulla Nasser Abdulla, followed by Isa Nasser Al Ghatam and Ali Khalid Al Nuaimi.
The Small Falconer revealed 10 winners. Said Mohammed Al Merri, outclassed all and finished first, followed by Zayed Mishal and Abdelwahab Ahmed Al Hajeri.
The championship is being organised by the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) Traditional Sports Committee at the Bahrain International Endurance Village.
