Bhavans-Bahrain Indian School (BIS) has literally redefined education since its inception.
With hard work, competence and dedication to achieve its aims, the school provides ample facilities for students not only to pursue academic excellence but also to explore their co-scholastic potential.
The rapidly-developing coronavirus crisis put the world on pause in 2020, but this pause was momentary for Bahrain Indian School fraternity.
The school took giant strides and adapted to the new teaching and learning styles within no time, spearheading online learning, and helping parents in the process by answering numerous queries and worries about their child’s education.
BIS was the first school which made provisions for the delivery of books at each child’s doorstep.
Orientation sessions and online parent teacher meetings conducted from time to time equally helped parents cope with using the technology for the ongoing education of their children.
This initiative by the information technology department and the management was instrumental in training teachers and parents ensuring that the school spirit was not dampened by the pandemic.
Students continued with online exams, virtual assemblies, festivities, summer camp and even participated in competitions by successful usage of virtual mediums.
BIS successfully resumed its on-campus classes in October 2020 for those students who opted to come to school, all the while following the health and safety procedures laid down by the Health and Education Ministries to combat Covid-19.
The school also organised inter-GCC and inter-school competitions – Bhavans International School Quiz (BISQ) and Bhavanodaya – through virtual platforms.
BIS is looking forward to another much-awaited event, the Annual Awards Ceremony, which will be conducted virtually, and the commencement of its senior secondary wing, which will add another feather in its cap.
Under the able leadership of directors Himanshu Verma and Ritu Verma and Principal Saji Jacob, the school is bound to reach many milestones in the future.
