Do you think giving more time off to working mums with newborns will make them less appealing to employ?
A big ‘thank you’ from the government for mothers. I am a mother of a nine-month-old baby and every single day I get tension from my staff.

You never know, they may be raising Bahrain’s next super star (in any category).
@sara_cookie96
Mothers had enough suffering giving birth. They need support.
@razer_ramonskie
Instead of this, increase the period for maternity leave.
@sanya_s246
Give it to both mothers and fathers.
@muhammedalmubarak
We need employers who think likewise.
@gazals26
Our company is already giving such time allowances to our employees! This is much-needed time for new mothers.

It’s nice to vote for giving two hours off to working mothers but there should be a law for protecting working mothers too.
@fathima_0606
Yes. Women in the country are already limited to certain working sectors and face tough competition from males in spaces where both indoor-outdoor work is needed. Considering how stingy some companies have become, and their pressure to make employees work overtime, cutting down on time would be a major setback for them. They’ll definitely prefer hiring males or unmarried women at the least.
@sarahossein_
It’s important! The children of the future who are the building blocks of society with dignity and moral can arise only if mothers can be present in their life!
@artist_in_light
In Germany they get months off to care for the newborn. And here people are worried about two hours. How slow is our progress?
@monkeydronez
Being a mother and having to support your family are both important tasks. A child needs exclusive breastfeeding for at least the first six months for better health outcomes, as recommended. It will not be met with only two months maternity leave provided.
Giving two hours off work daily would improve the care that can be provided, but what about the initial nutrition needed? I strongly recommend that the maternity leave policy needs amending.
Now with this amendment, companies will hesitate to hire women who are married.
@hela_paul
Being a mother doesn’t make one less productive at work, let us not complicate things, they need support!
@tonnieh4
Yes, especially for expatriate mothers – they are entitled to only two months of maternity leave.
Riste Babunski
Better to stay at home for two years instead of 2 hours!

I’m curious why things like this are only geared towards mothers? Aren’t fathers expected to want to spend more time with their newborns?
