A five-day extravaganza highlighting the best of US food, tourism, health, automotive and investment opportunities opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at LuLu Hypermarket in Dana Mall.
The 2021 Discover America Week (DAW) commemorates the 15th anniversary of the US-Bahrain Free Trade Agreement and will run until Thursday.
The festival was inaugurated yesterday by the US Embassy chargé d’affaires Margaret Nardi in the presence of LuLu group director Juzer Rupawala and members of senior management.
The event showcased American automobile technology as LuLu set aside a display space for the Harley Davidson and Indian Motorcycle iconic US cruiser brands, and a simulator bike to give a real feel of the ride.
“Discover America Week is a great way to explore new American products and the special relationship that Bahrain and America share,” said Ms Nardi.
“LuLu has always been a great platform for us to showcase the best of our products and we are sure shoppers will enjoy the amazing variety and deals that are stacked up for them.”
Mr Rupawala said LuLu Group had an active and large sourcing hub in the US and this was reflected across its global network of 215 stores.
“Discover America Week is a great way to explore the popularity of products that represent the new tastes that America has introduced to the world,” said Mr Rupawala.
There will be a special 30 per cent discount on a variety of American products at all LuLu outlets for all purchases of BD4 and above.
