MANAMA: A provocative video being circulated on social media in Bahrain was actually filmed in India, authorities confirmed last night.
The video, with divisive sectarian sentiments, was portrayed as having been filmed at the Indian Club in Gudaibiya, but both the club and the Interior Ministry confirmed that it was in fact shot elsewhere.
“The Indian Club has nothing to do with a provocative video clipping aired on social media,” the club announced on its Facebook page last night.
“The background clearly shows that it was recorded in some Press club in India.
“We condemn such sectarian comments and stand by our national spirit of Unity in Diversity.”
The Interior Ministry also confirmed this on Twitter, noting that, “the circulating video has nothing to do with the Kingdom of Bahrain.”
