Nearly 14,000 people have been arrested in just one week by Saudi authorities for breaching the country's residency, work and border security regulations.
An official report revealed that a 6,774 people were arrested for violation of residency rules, 5,295 were held over illegal border crossing attempts and a further 1,558 for labour-related issues, from January 6 to 12.
It also showed that amongst the 411 people arrested for trying to enter the kingdom illegally, 48 percent were Yemeni, 49 percent Ethiopian, and three percent were other nationalities.
Seventeen people were caught trying to cross into neighbouring countries and 14 were held for involvement in transporting and harbouring violators.
