Riyadh: Nine Saudi families have been evacuated from the place where an 18-year-old German-Iranian gunman opened fire near a busy shopping mall in Munich, killing at least nine people.
The Saudi Embassy said that the families had been provided accommodation at safe hotels, located far from the place of the attack.
The last Saudi family was evacuated by the embassy’s car as the German security authorities cordoned off the whole area.
In a statement today, it urged all Saudi nationals to stay indoors, keep off gatherings, comply with the Munich police security instructions and contact the Embassy in Frankfurt in case of emergency.
