ROAMING acts from around the world, professional street performers and stilt walkers will combine to create an unforgettable entertainment line-up at this year’s Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.
Top artists set to perform at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) this March 18 to 20 include Abraham Thill, Aras Stilt Band, the Joker group, Colour Dancers, Dr Bubbles, Funky Style Band and Jam Batucada.
Dancers, musicians, clowns and magicians will be seen around BIC’s F1 Village vending area through the three-day race weekend, BIC said in a statement last night.
“Abraham Thill is a professional street and circus artist who has been performing since 1999 with an energy paced show that includes clowning, pantomime, comedy, object and subject manipulation, improvisations, magic along with extraordinary and mind-blowing Diabolo skills,” said the statement.
“Aras Stilt Band is a combination of one of the best groups of percussions and stilt-walkers and their colourful costumes with big wings and beautiful music make them one of the most appreciated in Europe.
“The Joker Group comprises a team of funny and playful interactive clowns who have travelled across Europe entertaining children and the young-at-heart with acts that include fantastic circus skills, uni-cycling, juggling and stilt-walking.”
Meanwhile, charming stilt-performers, the Colour Dancers, will perform light-footed dances and comical interactions in their glowing colours. They will dance through streets, parks and rooms in ever-changing formations to all kinds of music.
“Dr Bubbles is a flamboyant character who comes up with colourful creations through giant soap bubbles that come in all shapes and sizes,” the BIC added.
“These unique structures of water reflect the bright lights at BIC making them shimmer in colours of the rainbow.
“Funky Style Band is an innovative group in the panorama of marching bands as they maintain the effective format of the union between sound and movement, but reinterpret it in a unique way.”
The band has eye-catching uniforms and dance with the grit and enthusiasm witnessed in a respectable street band but without forgetting the elegance of the Italian funky style.
Meanwhile, Jam Batucada will perform a fusion of rhythm, taste and colour while dancing to Brazilian and Latin American sounds at the F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.
“The event is set to be a historic, once-in-a-generation occasion for motorsport as it ushers in a new era in F1 following the biggest shake-up in F1 rules and regulations,” added the statement.
“There will also be loads of racing as F1 will be joined by the FIA Formula 2 Championship, the FIA Formula 3 Championship and the Porsche Sprint Challenge Middle East.
“To add to the roaming performers off the track, BIC’s spectacular entertainment programme will be highlighted by the back-to-back concerts on March 18, when globally renowned DJs Don Diablo and Afrojack will take to the stage for separate live performances.”
