To mark International Women’s Day today, the Last Oil Well gallery is hosting a series of events and activities until Thursday.
The ‘Together as One’ project is now on display at the gallery located in Al A’ali Mall; all profits from the sale of paintings will be donated to Shamsaha, a non-profit women’s empowerment and advocacy organisation in the region.
The event initially began on Saturday as artists from all over Bahrain drew in their own unique styles with a running theme of a unifying colour – purple – associated with gender equality advocacy and International Women’s Day.
Shamsaha is also planning a poetry night at the gallery tomorrow, featuring local poets Amal Jaffar, Kaav Ranj, Letters From Venus, and Nawraa Ali.
