HIS Majesty King Hamad has praised Bahrain’s pioneering educational achievements spanning more than a hundred years.
The King yesterday received at Safriya Palace, Arab Parliament Speaker Adel Al Asoomi, who introduced to him Jordanian Parliament Speaker Abdulkarim Al Daghmi, Yemeni Shura Council chairman Dr Ahmed Obaid bin Dagher, Djibouti Parliament chairman Mohammed Ali Hamad, Comoros Parliament chairman Moustadroine Abdou and AP Deputy Speaker, UAE Federal National Council member Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi and AP Deputy Speaker, Oman’s State Council member Dr Hassan bin Ali Al Madhani.
They arrived in Bahrain to attend the ceremony to launch the document on “Education Development in the Arab World”, held under the theme: “Bahrain Gateway to Education Development in the Arab World”.
The ceremony, which was hosted in Bahrain, was organised by the Arab Parliament, in co-operation with the Education Ministry, in the presence of prominent personalities, heads of Arab parliaments and representatives of Arab and international organisations and civil society institutions.
They conveyed to the King greetings from leaders of their countries, wishing him abundant health and happiness and the kingdom and its people further progress and prosperity.
The King also extended greetings to their leaders of states, wishing their countries and peoples further progress and prosperity.
His Majesty hailed the launch of the document for the development of the educational system in the Arab world, in line with global changes and developments in this vital sector and promoting common Arab interests.
He praised the strong historical relations binding Bahrain and their countries, noting growing co-operation in all fields, especially at the parliamentary and legislative levels, in order to achieve common goals and develop education in Arab countries.
The King highlighted Bahrain’s pioneering educational achievements spanning more than a hundred years, praising the efforts of the Education Ministry and all its affiliates and the development plans and programmes it implements to advance the educational process in the kingdom.
He stressed Bahrain’s support for efforts to promote joint Arab action and serve the interests of the Arab nation to meet the aspirations of its brotherly peoples.
The heads of Arab parliaments expressed deepest thanks and gratitude to the King, hailing Bahrain’s contributions to the success of the conference. They lauded the King’s initiatives and support to the Arab Parliament, hailing Bahrain’s development strides.
Mr Al Yamahi recited a poem on this occasion.
