MANAMA: Key decisions have been taken by the board of directors of Asry, the Arabian Gulf’s leading maritime repair and fabrication facility, to further increase performance efficiency and reduce costs.
This was announced in a statement issued after the year’s second board meeting under the chairmanship of Yousif Bubshait. The meeting was attended by Asry’s managing director Mazen Matar, board members and the executive management team.
The directors discussed several topics on the agenda, including following up on board decisions and recommendations from previous meetings, reviewing the latest performance developments in terms of safety within Asry, outlining the technical, commercial, and financial situation of the company, and reviewing the reports of audit and corporate governance committees.
The board also discussed the implementation of the state-of-the-art enterprise resource planning (ERP) system that aims to generate a qualitative shift in the performance of all departments within Asry, reflecting the company’s initiative of modernisation and technological advancement.
Also discussed were matters related to Asry’s operations and activities, especially within the fields of ship repair, rig repair, and new projects.
