His Majesty King Hamad has praised historical relations between Bahrain and Russia and expressed keenness to further develop them at all levels.
This came as His Majesty yesterday received at Safriya Palace Bahraini-Russian Friendship and Business Society chairman Dr George Al Zuraikat and vice-chairman Anatoly Mitrochin, on their visit to Bahrain marking the establishment of the society.
The King praised the society’s efforts in boosting relations and co-operation in trade, investment, economic and cultural fields. He wished the society chairman and members continuous success.
Dr Al Zuraikat presented the King with a model representing the Orthodox Church which will be built in Bahrain as part of the society’s goals and projects in appreciation of Bahrain’s religious freedom, tolerance and coexistence.
The King said that religious freedom and tolerance have characterised the Bahraini society throughout its history.
Dr Al Zuraikat expressed thanks and appreciation to His Majesty for the gracious welcome, and praised his keenness to promote co-operation between the two countries.
