HIS Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and captain of the Royal Endurance Team Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa has been crowned champion in the 120km race at the Samorin International Endurance Championship, in Slovakia.
This is his second victory at the championship in 24 hours following his win in the 160km contest.
Shaikh Nasser posted a time of 5 hours, 48 minutes and 59 seconds to win the 120km race.
The Royal Endurance Team swept the podium with Salman Isa and Manal Fakhrawi finishing second and third.
Shaikh Nasser’s victories confirm his profile as a glory maker and history writer for Bahrain.
He dedicated the victories to His Majesty and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The Bahraini sport is moving steadily towards development, he said, affirming its high position at the European level.
“Undoubtedly these successes are a motivator for the Royal Endurance Team to continue producing its best performances in the coming period, especially that the team is eyeing to accomplish the best results in the World Championship,” Shaikh Nasser said.
“Our goals are met following the victories in the 120km and the 160km races, as we harvested the fruit of our plan we designed before the races. The Royal Endurance Team always enters any competition to win. The efforts produced by everyone in the team played a key role in this achievement, Shaikh Nasser added, pointing out that the championship revealed the real abilities and capabilities of the team.
