Woman injured in stray dogs attack
Question: What did she do to provoke the stray dogs. They usually run away as they are scared of cruel humans.

Not always the same, as you said. In my case, I am walking alone and there’s a group of dogs on the other side of the road. But they crossed and just attacked me. As simple as that.

Your statement is correct when someone composes himself/herself well when dogs approach. But keep in mind, not all people can act normal if they have an encounter with unfamiliar species, especially dogs. Am sure the lady panicked and tried to run away from them. That’s when she turned into a prey and was attacked; dogs love to chase.

Why can’t people act normal? I would be more afraid of humans than of animals. Humans are the cruel creatures, not animals. If we treat them nicely they will never harm us...

Dogs in general do not attack people for no reason. Humans are dangerous towards animals and nature. I encounter many stray dogs and was never attacked. Of course, they come close as they are curious creatures, but never attack.

The vast majority of physical abuses and poisonings are carried out by locals. Some expats do treat them badly but rarely does a Western expat, we are accustomed to dogs and know how to react to them and treat them.

I studied psychology; humans are mostly predictable. Could be that dogs are smarter, and predict human behaviours better than us. In my experience, if there is a group of humans facing the aggressive pack of dogs, the dogs would mostly attack, if applied, a human who’s afraid of dogs. They can smell the rush of hormones of fear. “If I fear you, than I might hurt you” - this is dogs’ psychology.

Same like when I am waiting for my transport in the morning there’s a group of street dogs. They are so scary, very wild and hungry. They run so fast and are ready to attack anytime.

Stray dogs even if they are hungry or thirsty don’t bite unless we provoke them or they think that we are going to hurt them. Dogs are angels with unconditional love.

This is a big problem in Bahrain. One month before I rescued one Indian lady from dogs. She was surrounded by a group of dogs in Mahooz and she was crying loudly. Had I not been there, she would have been injured. Take care, especially at night.

Picking up and throwing stones at dogs doesn’t really help; it only perpetuates the aggressive stance by locals towards dogs – wild or otherwise. Taking into consideration the vile and wicked acts that many have people have witnessed being done to the dogs, is it any surprise that they are aggressive to strangers?

Stand still, don’t move and just let them sniff you. Then they’ll go away. If you start flapping your arms, they think you are going to hurt them, then they will bite.

Why are the authorities especially the police not taking action on this. I love dogs but if it’s harmful to somebody it’s not good for us. It’s scary because they are big.

I feel sorry for women, but I think if people are more kind towards animals, they will be kind to you. Dogs don’t attack if not provoked. I have seen people screaming and waving their hands.

They are animals, if you haven’t witnessed any incident you can’t say it’s because people provoke them. We need to be kind to every living thing but at the same time we need to draw boundaries against living things that can harm us. Stray dogs shouldn’t be allowed to roam freely in cities. This is the fourth case I am hearing about dog attacks. Last year, a six-year-old was wounded by dog bites and suffered for many days.

I still remember a group of dogs attacked a woman last month near Yateem petrol station. They roam in groups of two and are very huge, jumbo size.
