American singer-songwriter Oliver Tree was killed on Sunday (June 14), in a mid-air helicopter collision in Brazil.
He was reportedly in the aircraft when it struck another helicopter, resulting in the deaths of all six people on board both aircraft.
The aircraft crashed in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, located in the western zone of Rio de Janeiro. Argentine content creator Gaspar Prim Díaz, also known online as Gaspi, has been identified among the victims.
According to the Associated Press, Rio de Janeiro’s Military Fire Department said one of the helicopters plummeted into the parking lot of an electric car dealership, causing around 20 vehicles to catch fire.
Officials confirmed that an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the collision.
Oliver Tree had recently launched a global tour, titled “World’s First World Tour,” which began on May 30 in Mexico City. The tour supports the artist’s latest album, “Love You Madly Hate You Badly,” released on April 24, and was scheduled to feature performances across North and South America, Europe, and Asia. An Australia and New Zealand leg was also planned for later this year, in October 2026.
The singer was best known for his eccentric style and his viral hits “Life Goes On,” “Miss You,” and “Alien Boy”.
