The Bank of England's £20 and £50 notes will no longer be legal tender from October onwards. As such the Bank of England is advising anyone who still have these notes to spend it before September 30.
According to the Bank, there are nearly 163 million £50 notes and 314 million £20 notes still in circulation. The old notes, much like the £5 and £10 notes are being replaced with new polymer notes of the same denomination.
The new notes are made to be more durable and make it harder to be counterfeited.
That's not the only change being made to the new notes either.
The new £20 pound note will now feature the works and portrait of artist JMW Turner, while the new £50 note will feature noted mathematician Alan Turing.
