SARHAN Al Enzy of Al Safenat Stable was crowned the winner of the private stables competition yesterday in the Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Endurance Cup over a distance of 120km.
Al Enzy, who won the event clocking 4 hours 47 minutes 50 seconds, was presented his prize by Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) president Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.
The event featured wide participation, and Yusuf Saleh of Al Asayel Stable came second in 4:48:10, while third place went to Ahmed Al Fateh Stable’s Mohammed Amy, who finished in 4:48:11.
The event was held in the presence and follow-up of His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian works and youth affairs and BREEF honorary president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Shaikh Nasser expressed appreciation to Shaikh Khalid for his continued support, adding that such backing has contributed to fulfilling many objectives and supporting the youth and sports sector in the kingdom, especially that the endurance races are exhibiting broad involvement of young people.
