Bahrain is sending a group of Bahraini doctors and necessary medical supplies for the treatment of people injured in the devastating earthquake in Syria.
Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) secretary general and National Committee for Supporting Earthquake Victims in Syria and Türkiye chief executive Dr Mustafa Al Sayed signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to this effect with Syrian Doctors Syndicate Council head Dr Ghassan Fandi, in the presence of Bahrain Medical Society chairman Dr Amer Al Derazi.
The signing follows the royal directives of His Majesty King Hamad to alleviate the effects and damage caused by the earthquake in Syria.
Dr Fandi expressed his deep appreciation to the kingdom, the leadership, the government and people for their help.
He stressed the Syrian people’s pride in Bahrain’s stance during the painful crisis, and praised historical relations between the two countries.
Dr Al Derazi stressed the efforts and initiatives of the society in co-operation with the RHF and the National Committee for Supporting Earthquake Victims in Syria and Türkiye to send Bahraini doctors willing to help their Syrian brothers in this humanitarian catastrophe and provide relief to the affected.
