The Cabinet has extended its best wishes to His Majesty King Hamad, Bahraini citizens and to the Arab and Islamic nations on the occasion of the advent of Ramadan.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the weekly meeting at Gudaibiya Palace yesterday.
The holy month is expected to begin from Thursday, with Bahrain’s moon-sighting committee meeting today to receive testimonies.
To mark Community Partnership and Belonging to the Nation Day, the Cabinet emphasised the importance of loyalty to the nation and commended the initiatives adopted by the Interior Ministry to strengthen the kingdom’s sense of togetherness.
Marking Bahrain Youth Day, which falls annually on March 25, the Cabinet commended the role played by Bahraini youth in furthering the kingdom’s comprehensive development, led by His Majesty.
The Cabinet welcomed Bahrain International Airport being named as the World’s Best Airport for Baggage Delivery and the Best Airport Staff in the Middle East at the World Airport Awards, held at the 2023 Passenger Terminal EXPO in Amsterdam.
In this regard, the Cabinet noted the importance of developing airport services and competitiveness.
It commended the Interior Ministry, the Transportation and Telecommunications Ministry and the Bahrain Airport Company for the achievement.
The Cabinet discussed several memorandums during the meeting, approving the following:
1. A memorandum submitted by the ministerial committee for legal and legislative affairs regarding a draft law ratifying the direct facilitation agreement in support of the water distribution project associated with the second phase of the Al Dur Independent Water and Power Project.
2. A memorandum submitted by the committee regarding a draft decision to re-establish a committee to monitor the implementation of the National Energy Efficiency Action Plan and the National Renewable Energy Action Plan and its related initiatives.
3. A memorandum submitted by the committee regarding an MoU between the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, the Tokyo National Research Institute for Cultural Properties and Kanazawa University in Japan for the establishment of the Bahrain Centre for Antiquities and Cultural Heritage of the Arabian Gulf.
