His Majesty King Hamad, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, yesterday issued a royal order promoting National Security Adviser, Supreme Defence Council Secretary General and Royal Guard Commander Major General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to the rank of Lieutenant General.
The move was announced as the King visited the BDF General Command, in the presence of BDF Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa.
The King was also accompanied by his Personal Representative Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Royal Guard Special Force Commander Colonel Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
BDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Dheyab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi was also present.
Shaikh Nasser’s promotion comes in recognition of his tremendous efforts to serve the homeland in the military field, including his distinguished military achievements as Supreme Defence Council secretary general, National Security Adviser and Royal Guard Commander.
In addition, the promotion is thanks to his efforts to enhance the kingdom’s defence and military capabilities, contributions, along with his BDF brethren, to delivering humanitarian relief aid to stricken people in brotherly and friendly countries, unwavering interest in helping orphans and keenness to support Bahraini youth and athletes, as well as his success in winning international and regional championships, the latest of which was the World Endurance Championship in Abu Dhabi.
The King commended the efforts made by Lieutenant General Shaikh Nasser in serving the kingdom in the economic security field and as deputy chairman of the Royal Fund for Fallen Servicemen. His Majesty expressed sincere appreciation to Shaikh Nasser as one of the loyal Bahraini citizens, wishing him continued success.
He also said he valued highly the efforts being made by all brave BDF personnel to defend the nation, wishing them further success.
