Bahrain will take on Palestine today at the Muharraq Stadium in Arad in their opening match of the 2024 AFC U23 Asian Qualifiers.
A 28-member squad has been preparing for the three games Bahrain will play in the Asian Cup Qualifiers. Bahrain are due to take on Pakistan and Japan in the remaining two matches.
“We know that Palestine are a strong, physical team so we’ve prepared a strategy to counter their style of play,” Bahrain head coach Dario Basic told the GDN in an interview on Monday.
Meanwhile, Bahrain Football Association (BFA) president Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa directed to allow Bahraini fans to attend the national team’s matches free of charge.
BFA secretary general Rashid Al Zoubi urged fans to turn up in large numbers to cheer the national team.
Tonight’s match between Bahrain and Palestine is scheduled to kick off at 6.30pm. Japan take on Pakistan at 9.30pm in the second match of the night.
