Authorities have uncovered multiple violations, including breaches of residency laws and illegal fishing activities, during co-ordinated inspection campaigns along the Bahrain Bay coast, the Interior Ministry said in a statement last night.
The Coastguard, working in collaboration with the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs, Capital Governorate Police Directorate, Industry and Commerce Ministry, and the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, launched the campaign to monitor marine activities and ensure compliance among rowing boat rental companies.
Legal action has been taken against those found in violation, officials confirmed.
The Coastguard called for strict adherence to laws regulating fishing and marine practices. It also announced that such campaigns will continue regularly as part of efforts to safeguard maritime safety, enforce regulations, and preserve Bahrain’s marine resources.
