Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa has praised the deep-rooted Bahraini-Omani relations across various fields, especially sport.
Shaikh Khalid was speaking while receiving yesterday Oman Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Mohammed Al Zubair and his accompanying delegation.
Shaikh Khalid expressed pride in the strong relations between the two countries, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad and Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance co-operation between BOC and the Oman Olympic Committee through the exchange of expertise to serve the Olympic movement in the two countries.
Shaikh Khalid also praised the advanced level reached by the Bahraini-Omani relations, which has resulted in many joint achievements.
The Oman Olympic Committee president thanked Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad for the warm welcome and and praised the long-standing relations between the two countries, stressing the need to bolster bilateral sports co-operation. He also wished Bahrain further progress and prosperity.
Present on the occasion were GSA deputy chairman Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Cabinet Affairs Under-Secretary and BOC vice president Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, GSA chief executive Dr Abdulrahman Askar and BOC secretary general Faris Al Kooheji.
