In a display of unity, the ‘Here I am, Gaza’ solidarity march drew a large crowd that gathered at Hamad Kanoo Mosque in Muharraq.
Organised by the Palestine Support Society, participants yesterday passionately chanted against the ongoing Zionist assaults, demanding an ‘end to the relentless genocide, a cessation of indiscriminate gunfire, and the opening of borders for humanitarian aid and the transfer of patients, wounded and those in need’.
People from all walks of Bahraini society took part in the march, involving a significant number of healthcare professionals. Dressed in medical attire, doctors and nurses joined the procession, conveying both a humanitarian and medical message.
They voiced their opposition of the systematic targeting of hospitals and healthcare facilities in the Gaza Strip.
The march concluded with a closing statement by Al Eslah Society chairman Dr Abdulatif Al Sheikh calling for ‘an immediate end to the genocide’ and the opening of borders to facilitate humanitarian aid, emphasising the importance of continuing solidarity with the Palestinian people.
