The Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) has developed its digital service for purchasing chemicals from the local market, as part of ongoing government efforts to enhance and re-engineer public services.
The service enables establishments to submit requests to purchase and sell chemicals, refrigerants and regulated chemical substances, helping regulate transactions between local suppliers and buyers and ensure compliance with environmental and safety requirements.
The service’s processing time has been reduced from 20 working days to five through full automation, streamlined procedures and documentation, and an improved user experience.
SCE CEO Amina Hamad Al Rumaihi said the upgraded service strengthens oversight of chemical trading through automated verification and electronic linking with suppliers’ registered data, ensuring purchases are made from licensed entities, verifying quantities and digitally documenting transactions.
