Rollajam of Victorious Stable won the ninth contest of the sixth race of the season at the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) yesterday.
The winner of the 2,200 metres race, for the National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) Cup for imported horses, was trained by Fawzi Nass and ridden by Stephane Ladjadj. Rollajam edged past Miss Yvonne of Al Mohamediya Racing, while Fourth Time Lucky, owned by Al Mallah Syndicate, finished third.
The eighth race of the day, for the NBB Cup for local-bred horses, was won by Echo Through Time of Adiyat Racing while Safwa, owned by Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, and Black Shadow, of M and E Racing, finished second and third respectively.
Al Mukhtar Star of Al Afoo Racing claimed victory in the seventh race for imported horses to win the NBB Cup. Battyeford Boy, owned by Abdulla AlGaoud, and Encouraged, of Al Mohamediya Racing, claimed the second and third positions.
The sixth race, for imorted horses, saw Breath Of Air, of Al Adiyat Racing, emerge winner to lift the NBB Cup, finishing ahead of Gumais, of Al Mohamediya Racing, and Follow Suit, of Al Remah Stable.
Miblish, of Al Nuwayef Racing, powered to victory in the fifth race for local-bred horses to clinch the NBB Cup. Lavender, of Al Mohamediya Racing, was second and Son of Zous, of M and E Racing, claimed the third place.
The fourth race, for NBB Cup, was won by Atlasy, owned by Sayed Jawad Marzooq, finishing ahead of second-placed Atlal, of Al Mohamediya Racing, and third-placed Horatio, of Al Adiyat Racing.
Sharid, owned by Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, won the NBB Cup for the third race. Fishermans Friend, of M and E Racing, was second while Tharb, owned by Abdulla Sami Nass, finished third.
The winner of the second race, for NBB Cup, was Sarem, owned by Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa. Zafarani, of Al Mohamediya Racing, and Great Dane, of M and E Racing, finished second and third respectively.
Obeyan 1867, of Al Wasmiya, won the NBB Cup for opening race of the day, finishing ahead of Al Ma’anagy 1846, of Khaldiya, and Al Saqlawy 1807, of Al Riffa, who finished in the second and third places.
Present on the occasion was Supreme Council for Environment vice president and REHC deputy chairman Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa.
