His Majesty King Hamad has praised the success of Bahrain’s tourism sector, citing its expansion following the launch of many projects, facilities and tourist resorts.
Tourism has become a vital sector, and an important tributary of the national economy, he pointed out as he visited a number of projects in the Southern Governorate, including the Raffles Al Areen Palace Bahrain.
The King affirmed that Bahrain is making steadfast strides towards more development and progress, which will consolidate its success and advancement, as well as strengthen its competitive potential, increase its achievements and maintain its gains.
His Majesty, who was accompanied by his Personal Representative and Supreme Council for Environment president Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, was welcomed upon arrival by Raffles Al Areen Palace Bahrain general manager Marie Berengere Chapoton, Southern Governor Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa and several officials.
The King toured the hotel and was informed about its facilities, luxurious resorts and recreational areas.
He was also briefed about the development stages of the mega hotel and resort project, as well as the various services it provides.
His Majesty expressed his admiration for the hotel’s designs and distinctive modern facilities, noting that it will boost the tourism sector in the kingdom and contribute to its diversity and continuous progress.
He wished those in charge of Raffles Al Areen Palace Bahrain continued success.
His Majesty praised the kingdom’s rich historical, civilisational, cultural, heritage, tourism monuments and landmarks, entitling it to be an ideal destination for visitors and tourists.
