BASKETBALL – Defending champions Manama will square off against Shabab Al Ahli-Dubai in their sixth and final Group B game of the 2023-24 West Asia Super League (WASL)-Gulf Region at the Zain Basketball Arena tonight.
Manama, who are unbeaten across all competitions this season, lead the four-team table with 10 points from five consecutive wins and have already qualified for the semi-finals.
Shabab Al Ahli-Dubai, meanwhile, are in second place with eight points from three wins and two defeats from five games and will be looking to avenge their 73-67 loss to Manama in Dubai last December.
The defending champions, though, have been in imperious form since they began the season with an 84-76 win over Kuwait’s Kazma Club at home last November.
Manama followed that up with a 108-71 drubbing of Qatar’s Al Shamal, also at home, in early December before the away win over Shabab Al Ahli-Dubai two weeks later.
Then, last month, Manama beat Kazma Club, 102-82, in Kuwait before administering another drubbing to Al Shamal, this time in an away fixture, winning 130-83.
Tonight’s game starts at 7pm.
