The Civil Defence has evacuated 16 people from a scrapyard in the Southern Governorate, after a fire broke out in the waste facility early this morning.
No one was injured in the blaze.
According to the Interior Ministry, Civil Defence fire fighters arrived at the scene within minutes of receiving the report at 2.38am, successfully getting the blaze under control and eventually extinguishing it.
Firefighters conducted cooling operations to the area to prevent another blaze igniting.
