BEACH VOLLEYBALL – BAHRAIN’S beach volleyball men’s and women’s national teams begin their medal bids today in their respective Arab competitions, taking place in Amman, Jordan.
In both the 29th Arab Men’s and 19th Arab Women’s Beach Volleyball Championships, Bahrain are one of six nations being represented. The others are Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, hosts Jordan, and Lebanon. There are two pairings in each tournament flying the kingdom’s flag. The Bahrain A tandem of Ali Abdulwahed and Mujtaba Al Shakhouri were yesterday drawn in Group B of the men’s tournament along with Oman A, Lebanon A, Qatar B, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia B. The Bahrain B duo of Ali Marhoon and Hassan Nasser are in Group A along with Qatar A, Oman B, Lebanon B, and Saudi A.
On the distaff, Bahrain A pairing Munira Abdulla and Hawraa Hameed Majeed are in Group B for the women’s competition’s opening phase. They will be facing Qatar B, Lebanon A, Saudi A, and Jordan B. The Bahrain B team of Sajida Hussain Abbas and Fatima Abdulwahed are in Group A where they will take on Jordan A, Saudi B, Qatar A, and Lebanon B.
All four Bahraini teams are scheduled to take to their respective playing courts today. Action in the morning session is scheduled to start at 9am, while in the afternoon games will begin from 3pm, both Bahrain time.
