Bahrain Chamber, represented by its chairman Sameer Nass, signed seven memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with several Russian chambers of commerce and economic institutions during its participation in the St Petersburg International Economic Forum 2025.
The MoUs aim to strengthen economic relations between the private sectors in Bahrain and Russia and expand co-operation in fields such as trade, industry, investment, tourism and logistics. The Russian signatories include the Chamber of the Russian Federation, Roscongress Foundation, Moscow Chamber, Cheshen Chamber, Krasnodar Chamber, Sakha Republic (Yakutia) Chamber, and Lipetsk Chamber.
The agreements outline the exchange of economic and commercial information, joint organisation of exhibitions and trade delegations, and support for projects that contribute to sustainable development and enhance Bahrain’s presence on the global economic stage.
Mr Nass emphasised that these MoUs reflect the leadership’s support for building international economic partnerships based on mutual interests. He noted that this step will help open new markets to Bahraini businesses and further integrate the private sector into the global economy, especially the promising Russian market.
Bahrain Chamber first vice-chairman Khalid Najibi noted that these agreements fall in line with the chamber’s strategy to connect the Bahraini private sector with international investment opportunities, adding that the chamber is committed to enabling businesses to grow globally and strengthen their competitiveness.
Board member and chamber’s executive committee member Ahmed Al Saloom stated that the MoUs provide valuable opportunities for Bahraini small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to build strategic partnerships with their Russian counterparts, supporting their growth and business expansion.
The chamber reaffirmed its ongoing support for SMEs and its commitment to enabling them to access global markets, in alignment with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, which places the private sector at the heart of sustainable development efforts.
