The inaugural edition of the Khalid bin Hamad Golden Generation Games wrapped up last night with an official closing ceremony held in Isa bin Rashid Arena at Isa Sports City in Riffa.
The multi-sport event took place over the past fortnight under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sport first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
GSA deputy chairman Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa was in attendance at last night’s ceremony, along with GSA CEO Dr Abdulrahman Askar. Officials and youth from national sports federations and clubs were also present.
The Games was held within the directives of Shaikh Khalid to involve a large number of young athletes in Bahrain’s Golden Generation initiative, in support of efforts to discover and refine talents for the future.
