An official source from the Ministry of Interior has announced the apprehension of drug trafficking networks comprising 37 individuals involved in the trafficking of amphetamine and methamphetamine (shabu) in Riyadh and Hail regions. The arrests were made based on information gathered by the ministry’s relevant department.
Arrested individuals include 28 Saudi nationals—among them one from the Ministry of Interior, two from the Ministry of National Guard, two from the Ministry of Defense, and one from the Ministry of Health. The network also comprised two Ethiopian nationals who violated the Border Security Law, five Syrian expatriates, besides two Yemeni nationals.
Legal measures have been initiated against all suspects who have been referred to the Public Prosecution.
The Ministry of Interior emphasizes that security agencies remain vigilant against all criminal schemes hatched to target the nation and its youth through drug trafficking. The ministry reiterated its commitment to confronting anyone who attempts to undermine the security of the Kingdom and its citizens, thwarting their plans and apprehending all those involved, regardless of their status.
