The General Council for Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions (Cibafi) and the University of Bahrain (UoB) held a public lecture yesterday titled ‘Navigating the Future: The Role of AI and Fintech in Islamic Finance.’
The event attracted over 100 participants and explored how artificial intelligence (AI) and financial technology (Fintech) are reshaping the Islamic finance industry.
Cibafi project manager Dr Muhammad Bilal and business development manager Rachid Ettaai discussed the potential of AI and Fintech to enhance efficiency, promote financial inclusion, and drive innovation while addressing challenges such as cybersecurity and Shariah compliance.
The lecture is part of Cibafi’s efforts to strengthen collaboration between academia and the Islamic finance industry.
