Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism, received Khaled El Anany, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of Egypt.
Minister Al Sairafi highlighted the historical ties between the two countries, which have played a key role in advancing relations across various sectors, particularly in tourism.
She noted the importance of mutual visits in expanding partnership, enhancing means of cooperation and coordination, and advancing them towards broader prospects.
The meeting reviewed means to enhance tourism cooperation between the two countries, including the launch of joint tourism initiatives and the exchange of expertise in sustainable and sports tourism.
Minister Al Sairafi also noted the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix Formula One as a unique opportunity to strengthen Bahrain’s position as an attractive tourist destination, particularly through programmes accompanying the race, which include visits to various tourist, cultural, and heritage landmarks, showcasing the richness and diversity of Bahrain’s tourism offering.
The two sides also discussed mechanisms to promote tourist destinations in both countries through integrated programmes aimed at increasing tourist exchange, in addition to reviewing several regional and international tourism-related issues of mutual interest.
