Ali Mohammad Akbar Khan, country head, consumer division, at Mohsin Haider Darwish (MHD), was honoured for over two decades of leadership at the Channel Summit META 2025 gala dinner.
Mr Khan, an original attendee of the inaugural DISTREE event in 2005, received the award from ChannelHub chief executive Farouk Hemraj for his enduring contributions to the META region’s consumer tech retail industry. Mr Hemraj praised Mr Khan’s instrumental role in shaping the sector.
Throughout his 25-year career, Mr Khan has held senior roles in prominent consumer electronics and retail organisations, earning a reputation as an influential figure.
Addressing over 500 global tech leaders, Mr Khan said: “This recognition is about the journey, the relationships, and the unwavering commitment to building something meaningful.” He also thanked his early mentor, Mohammed Adil, his first chief executive at Géant Hypermarket in Bahrain.
The Channel Summit META platform remains a key meeting point for shaping consumer technology’s future, with Mr Khan’s honour underscoring the value of long-term vision and collaboration.
