MOTORSPORT – THE Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2026 will take place from April 10 to 12 next year, it was announced yesterday.
Formula One and the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) released the 2026 season calendar, with Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), ‘The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East’, set to host the fourth of 24 rounds in next year’s FIA F1 World Championship.
With Bahrain retaining the same place in the calendar as 2025, racing will begin in Australia from March 6 to 8. China will then host round two from March 13 to 15, followed by Japan from March 27 to 29, prior to coming to Sakhir.
With 2025 achieving yet another sellout at BIC, tickets for next year’s race are expected to be as in-demand as ever.
For 2026, BIC will introduce a priority ticket access window for fans who want to ensure they can get the best seats available.
Those interested are encouraged to visit bahraingp.com to register their details now and will be the first to access tickets, ahead of their official launch which will be announced in due course.
Next year’s world championship will feature Madrid as the new addition to the calendar from September 11 to 13.
Following Bahrain’s race, the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix will be held in Jeddah a week later from April 17 to 19. The season will then run to its traditional conclusion in Abu Dhabi from December 4 to 6.
F1 president and CEO Stefano Domenicali said: “2026 will be a new era for F1 where we will witness a brand-new set of regulations for our sport, the cars and the engines that will be powered by 100 per cent sustainable fuel.
“We are excited to welcome Madrid to the calendar, and to see huge automotive brands like Audi, Cadillac, and Ford join the F1 grid.
“It promises to be an unforgettable season, where once again we will come together at 24 amazing global venues to watch the best drivers in the world push themselves to the limit and produce incredible wheel-to-wheel racing for our millions of fans watching around the globe.
“I want to thank all our fans for their passionate support and the FIA, with all the volunteers, marshals and officials, as well as the promoters, partners, sponsors, host cities, and the local motor racing federations for their commitment and support in delivering this schedule in what I know will be another historic year for F1.”
