The Bahrain 3x3 Summer Tour is part of a sports agenda aimed at promoting basketball during the summer and providing a competitive platform for the game’s enthusiasts in a dynamic format, played on a half-court with one hoop.
This championship represents a key initiative by the BBA to expand the participation base and establish Bahrain’s presence on the international 3x3 circuit, sanctioned by the International Basketball Federation (Fiba).
Notably, this inaugural edition marks the launch of what will become an annual event.
Aside from rankings in each of the tournaments, the participating teams are competing to reach the Bahrain 3x3 Summer Tour’s final event, also known as a Quest competition, where the winner will earn a spot in one of the prestigious stops on the 2025 Fiba 3x3 World Tour.
There is also a total prize pool of $6,000 in the series, to be distributed among the top-performing teams from each event, including the Quest finale.
This year’s Fiba 3x3 World Tour has already made stops in Japan, China, the Netherlands, France, and Austria. It will also be holding competitions in Mongolia, Hong Kong, Canada, Switzerland, Hungary, China, Macau, and the UAE, before heading to Bahrain for the Fiba 3x3 World Tour finale on November 21 and 22.
It will be the first time ever that the kingdom will be staging the Fiba 3x3 World Tour curtain-closer, in which this year’s champions will be crowned.
