TENNIS – BAHRAIN Tennis Academy (BTA) held its 21st Annual Junior Awards Ceremony for 10-and-under players at the Dilmun Club in Saar.
The most outstanding players of the 2024-25 season were honoured at the event.
Awards were presented in 14 categories, some of which included Best Forehand, Most Improved Player, and Best Attitude.
Academy coaches short-listed five players for each award and then selected a winner after taking into account each player’s skill level and experience in the game.
Winners of the prestigious Player of the Year awards were Noah Gardier (eight-and-under) and Samyak Shah (10-and-under). Other category winners were Annabelle Griffin, Carla Maxim, George Carvelli, Kaustubh Gopal, Sama Fakhro, and Tariq Alrayes.
Samyak Shah was the star of the ceremony by being nominated in nine categories and claiming six awards.
A special award was also presented to long-time student Alya Ben Lassoued for her courage and resilience in the face of adversity following a serious injury which has sidelined her.
The awards were presented by BTA director Dan Barrie.
“Our 10-and-under players, who are at a crucial stage of development as they prepare to transition to the bigger court, have shown that they have a huge amount of potential and have made great strides towards reaching it this season,” said Barrie.
