His Majesty King Hamad has stressed the importance of advocating for diplomatic solutions and dialogue to resolve conflicts in a manner that safeguards regional security and the well-being of its people.
He expressed hope for achieving comprehensive and lasting peace in the region when he held a telephone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin yesterday.
The two leaders reviewed relations between Bahrain and Russia and discussed efforts to strengthen and develop ties across various sectors.
The King also emphasised the importance of pursuing peace, security and stability in the region and globally.
He expressed his gratitude to President Putin for the warm hospitality extended to the kingdom’s delegation, headed by his representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, during Bahrain’s participation as guest of honour at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The King and President Putin underscored the importance of the upcoming first Arab-Russian Summit, scheduled to be held in Moscow this October, as a key platform to advance dialogue and co-operation.
He also commended President Putin’s role in promoting peace and his efforts in light of the increasing challenges facing global energy and maritime navigation.
President Putin expressed his appreciation to His Majesty for the keen interest in furthering strengthening the deep-rooted ties and close co-operation between Bahrain and Russia.
