FOOTBALL – BAHRAIN’S under-17 football national team suffered a narrow 3-4 loss against Kyrgyzstan last night in a friendly match played as part of their ongoing overseas training camp in Bishkek.
Hussain Zahir had a hat-trick for the Bahrainis, scoring twice in the first half in both the 27th and 39th minutes and then adding his third five minutes after the re-start.
The game was the first of two tune-ups between the two sides during Bahrain’s camp. The other is scheduled for Friday, after which the nationals will be flying back to the kingdom the next day.
The Bahrainis have 22 players in their camp. Along with Zahir, the others are Ahmed Hani, Jaafar Sadiq, Talal Mahmoud, Mohammed Al Mulhim, Omar Al Balushi, Abdulla Khalil, Ali Al Oraibi, Mohammed Al Jazzaf, Mohammed Salah, Hussain Amir, Mohammed Al Hasooni, Kamil Al Satrawi, Karar Huwaida, Jassim bin Jamea, Eyad Mustafa, Khaled Al Khaja, Ahmed Mahdi, Hussain Zainuddin, Haitham Shafi, Hussain Shehab, and Anas Mohammed.
The Bahrainis are coached by Croatian tactician Ugo Klingor.
