A team of doctors in Egypt extracted a mobile phone from the stomach of a man who swallowed it two years earlier.
The man in Asyut, Egypt, presented at a doctor's office complaining of consistent stomach pains. Doctors took several X-rays, which revealed a phone in his stomach.
The man had reportedly swallowed the phone two years earlier while imprisoned in an attempt to smuggle it in.
There was no need for surgical intervention; instead, doctors used a simple endoscopy to remove the phone.
