His Majesty King Hamad sent a cable of congratulations to Shaikha Hessa bint Ali Al Khalifa on her appointment as the Second Vice-Chair of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS) during its 68th session in Austria, making her the first Arab Muslim woman to hold this position.
His Majesty noted that this achievement reflects the outstanding competence and recognised expertise of Bahraini women in assuming various international roles .
