Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa received yesterday World Triathlon president Antonio Fernandez Arimany.
Also in attendance at the meeting were GSA deputy chairman Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, BOC vice-president Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, GSA CEO Dr Abdulrahman Askar, and BOC secretary general Mustafa Al Kooheji.
Shaikh Khalid expressed his appreciation for the significant efforts made by World Triathlon in supporting national federations and promoting the growth of the sport worldwide.
Shaikh Khalid and Arimany also discussed ways of bilateral co-operation to continue the development of triathlon in the kingdom, especially in light of the significant boom and widespread popularity the sport has achieved thanks to the support of His Majesty King Hamad’s humanitarian work and youth affairs representative and SCYS chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Shaikh Khalid affirmed that Bahrain is keen to enhance co-operation and co-ordination with World Triathlon. At the end of their meeting, Shaikh Khalid was presented with a token of appreciation.
