Plans to expand Bahrain’s newly-launched ‘chill zones’ for delivery drivers have hit a roadblock after widespread complaints from residents and a backlash from the country’s three municipal councils.
While the initiative – introduced by the Labour Ministry in collaboration with food delivery giant Talabat – was meant to provide respite for hot and weary riders during the scorching summer months, residents living near the 12 newly-installed rest containers say their peace has been disturbed .
