BASKETBALL – BAHRAIN has been granted an additional spot on the list of approved referees and commissioners by the International Basketball Federation (Fiba), the Bahrain Basketball Association (BBA) has announced.
Fiba released the list of international referees and commissioners from the kingdom, effective from September 1, for two years.
The list includes five international referees, namely Mohammed Al Sallam, Adel Ghuloom, Sadeq Al Mashkhas, Bader Faraj, and Fatima Al Mutawaj; in addition to international commissioners Bader Al Anzoor and Eman Al Thaqafi.
The list marks a new achievement for Bahraini basketball as it has secured an additional seat among the international refereeing team, with the inclusion of referee Bader Faraj. This shows the continued improvement of the refereeing system in the kingdom.
BBA referees committee chairman Tareq Al Arabi expressed pride in the achievement, highlighting that the selection of several referees and commissioners demonstrates growing international confidence in Bahraini officials.
He described the approval of an additional international referee as well-deserved, reflecting the committee’s ongoing efforts to develop refereeing in Bahrain.
Al Arabi affirmed that this accomplishment showcases the distinction of Bahraini referees on the global stage and pledged to continue development programmes to further increase their international presence in the coming years.
