The Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the United States won second place in the People’s Choice Award category at the Embassy Chef Challenge held yesterday in Washington, DC, where its dishes impressed both visitors and judges.
Chef Bandar Alhenaki represented the embassy, serving a distinguished selection of Saudi dishes that showcased the Kingdom’s rich culinary heritage and cultural diversity.
He noted that the embassy’s participation aimed to highlight the authenticity and prestige of Saudi cuisine internationally as a cultural symbol and expression of national identity.
The event, held annually in Washington, brings together chefs from diplomatic missions accredited in the city. This year’s edition featured more than 30 embassies.
Dishes were evaluated by culinary experts based on presentation, taste, and cultural representation, while visitors voted for the People’s Choice Award.
The Saudi Embassy’s participation reflects ongoing efforts to promote Saudi culture and foster international cultural exchange.
